Ein syniad:
December 2015 – the Year 12 and 13 students who will be visiting Belgium in February will take part in 4 sessions as part of their ‘Directed Time’ programme to extend their knowledge of the First World War and how people from the local area participated in it.
February 2016 – as part of their planned trip to Belgium, the tour will be extended by 1 day to include a tour of the Ypres area, including visits to In Flanders Fields Museum, the grave of Hedd Wyn and Welsh National Memorial near Langemark. The tour will be guided by a local tour guide.
March 2016 – students who went on the trip will meet with their teachers to put together resource packs to deliver lessons, sessions and assemblies to Year 9 and Year 5/6 pupils.
May 2016 – AS/A-Level Welsh students will be able to use their visit (to the grave of Hedd Wyn) during their Speaking Exam as their main topic is ‘Hedd Wyn’, his legacy and story.
May 2016 – students will create a display in the school and encourage students in the primary schools to do the same, to pass on the story and information to other students.
